South Asian Accountability Initiative

The South Asian Accountability Initiative (SAAI) aims to advance health equity for South Asian communities by developing culturally informed, language accessible and clinically accurate health communication tools.

We aim to:

• Empower patients with accessible health information

• Support providers in delivering equitable, informed care

• Promote health literacy through culturally rooted resources

 

So healthcare can be truly informed and equitable for everyone.

 

Our handouts in English, Gujarati, Hindi, Malayalam, Sinhala, Tamil, and Urdu are currently integrated in the electronic medical records of clinics in the Greater Toronto Area. We continue to expand and are in the process of implementing our handouts in 50+ clinics.
